Zampell establishes Baton Rouge, Louisiana operation

NEWBURYPORT, MA, USA – February 13, 2020 –Zampell is launching into the greater Baton Rouge market through the hiring of a division manager and a project manager with a plan to establish a shop location in the immediate future. Both new employees bring a wealth of experience and a network of craftspeople that will form the foundation for the new Zampell location and supplement the Zampell workforce overall.

With natural gas prices remaining stable for at least the next ten years, many of the petrochemical manufacturing facilities in the Gulf Coast region are forecasting steady growth and significant capital investment that will drive opportunities for construction firms like Zampell. In addition to that growth, there is an opportunity for Zampell to enter new territories that suddenly have less competition, primarily due to the consolidation of many American refractory companies via private equity acquisition. Zampell is already capturing a significant amount of this growth in the Texas market with its office in Beaumont, Texas. The Beaumont, Texas office has largely focused on its scaffolding, insulation, and coatings services. By adding a refractory team in Baton Rouge, this allows both offices to collaborate for mutual growth of all of Zampell’s service offerings across the region.

“I’m excited to hit the ground running in this new territory. We see a need in the area for the engineering-based refractory solutions that we excel in providing. This is a great spot for us too where we can work hand in hand with our established and growing Beaumont, Texas operation,” remarked Brian Zampell. “In addition to the business case, the Gulf Coast petrochemical industry has a trend of steadily improving its expectations for quality and safety, which is a great fit for our culture as a family company.”

Zampell has opened or acquired several offices across the USA and Europe in the last ten years, so with that experience Zampell will quickly engage in setting up the location, allocating tools and equipment, and adapting its policies and procedures into the demands of the local client requirements. With many of the Baton Rouge area clients having locations in other Zampell territories, Zampell expects to move through client approvals quickly and be fully operational in the next few weeks. In order to help tackle this initiative, Zampell is also dedicating corporate business development and engineering support to ensure a quick impact in the marketplace.
