NEWBURYPORT, MA, USA – February 12, 2019 – Zampell Refractories, Inc. and New England Mechanical Overlay (NEMO) inked a deal today to collaborate on future contracts that include full turnkey scopes. The Joint Collaboration Framework Agreement (JCFA) establishes business terms and a scope of collaboration to facilitate a streamlined process for servicing clients with this demand.
Bryan Foulds, CEO of NEMO, remarked, “I think this is a great fit for our two companies to collaborate on what we each do best. I believe that NEMO continues to be the standard in our market for safety, craftsmanship, and on-time delivery of mechanical and pressure-part work. Zampell has the same reputation for all of their services, so together we can provide the best value to our clients.”
Jim Zampell, Chairman of Zampell, commented, “Years ago, we had current employees of NEMO like Bryan Foulds and Steve Cotta working at Zampell in our refractories business. It’s great to have them be back in the family as a part of this new deal. It’s a good fit for us and for our clients.”
Both Zampell and NEMO currently work around each other all the time at a variety of manufacturing, pulp and paper, and waste-to-energy job sites. The crews already have a great working relationship and a good familiarity with each other, making this an easy fit operationally as Zampell and NEMO collaborate on projects. Above all else, both companies have their focus set on building a great culture for their employees that fosters a successful environment of safety, craftsmanship, and hard work. This consistent dedication to the people who work at Zampell and NEMO have made both companies successful and their partnership will help each other build mutual success.
“There is an increasing interest from clients to have a turnkey option for certain scenarios, so it’s something we had to consider as a business. Instead of trying to build something from the bottom, with all the challenges and risks of doing that, we decided the right move would be to partner with a company that has certainly earned our respect and ensures that we will be successful in providing the very best turnkey services, right out of the gate,” commented Brian Zampell.
Some of the benefits of the Zampell/NEMO JCFA, in addition to the expanded scopes of capabilities through both companies, is expanded access to a sales, safety, and project work force. It creates new opportunities for the sales staff at both companies, provides a greater network to the safety professionals, and allows for collaborative project management across both companies for better scheduled and streamlined projects.
“The core of the agreement is based on a strong foundation of communication where sharing information will lead to the best solution for clients that need a unified industrial solution for their facilities,” said Jamie Byrd, President of NEMO.
